Alex Blakelock

Creatively Wild Teaching Artist

Alex Blakelock is a primarily self-taught artist with a particular love for fiber arts. Alex grew up in Massachusetts where they studied art and art history and had the opportunity to study at the Paris campus of Parsons School of Design. Alex received their BA from Elon University in Human Service Studies and Women Gender Sexualities Studies. From Elon, Alex moved to Washington, DC to work in nonprofit fundraising and event planning. In 2023, they moved to Brooklyn, where they benefited from art therapy as well as being a student at Creatively Wild. They immediately fell in love with the space and the people and joined the staff as a children’s instructor. Alex enjoys connecting through art and expression and creating a space for others to express themselves. They can be found as a counselor at CWAS camp, teaching toddler classes, or manning freeze dance at birthday parties.
